I am a geographer and fine art landscape photographer based in Northeast Ohio and Middle Tennessee. My work explores how light, movement, and time shape the Earth’s landscapes, focusing on natural processes and forms that reveal atmosphere, flow, and texture. Through photography, I invite viewers to engage with landscapes as living, dynamic systems and to reflect on the importance of environmental stewardship. I hold a PhD in Geography from West Virginia University (2018), a Master’s degree in Geography from Kent State University (2014), and a Bachelor of Science in Photojournalism from Kent State University (2009). I am currently an Associate Professor of Global Studies and Human Geography at Middle Tennessee State University, where I integrate visual storytelling, photography, and geographic perspectives into my teaching and research. I have also taught photography and multimedia techniques at Kent State University.
I am a geographer and photographer.
A member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), I have worked professionally as a photographer, studio manager, Photoshop specialist, designer, and video editor for several Cleveland-based studios and labs. My photographic work has received national recognition through juried competitions, including merited images and a silver medal at the International Photographic Competition, as well as Best of Show honors in juried exhibitions. My work has been exhibited in galleries across Northeast Ohio, including the Galleria at Erieview, Ashtabula Arts Center, Conneaut Arts Center, MozArt Gallery, Gallery Z, Bridge Street Art Works, Sandpiper Gallery, and Stella’s Art Gallery. I continue to blend geographic research with fine art photography to document landscapes across the United States and beyond.
